GaiaWords was born of a marriage of passion, background and talent.
I have a passion for the environment, an extensive background in writing and publishing in both the business and non-profit worlds, and a talent for putting scientific, legal and economic concepts and arguments into plain, accessible English.
My passion for the environment began during family vacations spent in the north woods of Minnesota and was nurtured by a great set of high school science teachers. After a long business career, I decided to re-focus my life around this passion, and began a PhD program in the Earth Sciences. A change in circumstances forced me to put the PhD on hold, but opened the door to a job as Manager of Planning and Communications for the University's National Center for Earth-surface Dynamics, a job which included designing, writing and editing for their annual reports, research reports, brochures, web site and newsletter. When that project ended, I launched GaiaWords.
The mission of GaiaWords is to use all my skills, background and talent to help organizations with an environmental message to carry that message in all its forms to their stakeholders.
